S. Korea's unemployment rate hits 4.4% last month; highest level for April since 2000

The number of employed people in South Korea reached 27-million in April, an on-year increase of 171-thousand.<br />Statistics Korea said Wednesday, this is the first time in three months,... that the increase has been below the 200-thousand mark.<br />South Korea's health and technology services sectors accounted for most of the job gains,... but the number of retail and manufacturing jobs went down. <br />The country's unemployment rate rose to four-point-four percent last month, up zero-point-three percentage points on-year. <br />This is a record high for the month of April since 2000. <br />
